Alajuela, Costa Rica
Alajuela was our last stop. Really, it was just meant to be a spot near the airport to have a shower and a snooze before catching our flights home. But the city turned out to be incredibly photogenic. The brightly lit streets were filled with students, colourful murals and impressive colonial architecture (also, we stumbled on a perfect, little taqueria—Jalapeños Central). Sorry for the low-expectations Alajuela, you really are a beauty!
