japanese subway commuter

Across From Us

For the past few weeks I’ve been transfixed by David Buchler’s instagram account, and getting serious pangs of Japan nostalgia. David catches Japanese commuters at their most unguarded; at a crossroads between sleep and relaxation, focused concentration and zen. I can’t stop looking.

japanese subway commuter, reading japanese subway commuter, sleeping japanese subway commuter, osaka japanese subway commuter, tired japanese subway commuter, kyoto station japanese subway commuter, picking nose japanese subway commuter, jr sagano line japanese subway commuter, kintetsu line japanese subway commuter sleeping on the street, japan japanese subway commuter, kintetsu line japanese subway commuter, kintetsu line japanese subway commuter, kintetsu line japanese subway commuter, kintetsu line japanese subway commuter japanese subway commuter japanese subway commuter, kintetsu line japanese subway commuter, hankyu line japanese subway commuter, kintetsu line japanese subway commuter, kintetsu line japanese subway commuter

David and his partner Koichi also run a gem of a travelogue called Japanesesong filled with poetic photography and stories from their trips around Japan and Taiwan.
